Ancelotti: “I hope Real Madrid will play against my former club in the Champions League final”

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke about Real Madrid’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League final.

Ancelotti said, in statements highlighted by the Spanish newspaper “Marca”: “They applied high pressure, but it was difficult for them, because Modric and Kroos are training very well for this type of match, they are not afraid when taking the ball out from behind well.”

He added, “Saeed.. We are a modern and energetic team.. Kroos and Modric played a great match. The key to the match is the humility of the great players.. They play because they deserve it, not because of their career.”

He continued: “Benzema’s injury is a bruise, nothing more.. I hope there will be no problems.. As for the favorite competitor, I do not have a list of that, but I would like to face Milan in the final match, and not in the next round.”

And about his conversation with Klopp at the end of the match: “We agreed that the Manchester City game yesterday was not a touch of the hand .. We were talking about the penalty kick that Guardiola’s team got against Leipzig .. Yesterday’s penalty kick was really crazy.”

And he added, “You must be careful in these matters because it is not expected that you will get a penalty kick like this in the Champions League .. I don’t think anyone noticed that, not even Guardiola himself.”

He concluded: “Vinicius for me is the best in the world. Today he did not score, but he played very well and gave an assist.”
